Emily Winter
Founder and Director

As the Owner and Founder of The Alignment Project Dance Company, Emily brings a unique and powerful blend of artistic vision, technical expertise, and wellness-focused training to every dancer she trains. With a lifelong passion for movement and over a decade of experience in both dance and health sciences, Emily is dedicated to helping young dancers thrive, both on and off the stage.
Emily's journey as a dancer began at a young age and her education was provided locally, here in Pittsburg, KS. At age 18, Emily began teaching dance and working as a choreographer with dancers of various ages and skill levels. She has earned recognition at both the regional and national level for innovative choreography from multiple companies including StageOne Productions, Talent On Parade, and more. Over the years, she has choreographed award-winning competitive routines across a wide range of styles, including jazz, contemporary, and character. Emily is passionate about pushing dancers to grow while staying grounded in safe and sustainable movement practices.
Currently completing a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Cleveland University in Overland Park, KS, Emily brings a deep understanding of biomechanics, injury prevention, and physical wellness into the dance space. This rare intersection of dance and healthcare informs every building block which The Alignment Project was founded. Emily's goal is to continue creating an environment where technique and artistry are balanced with strength, flexibility, and long-term wellness.
With a vision rooted in empowerment, education, and artistic integrity, Emily continues to shape the next generation of dancers, providing them with not only the tools to succeed in dance, but the foundation to thrive for life.
